FUNERAL ASSISTANTS

As a funeral assistant, you will be assisting our funeral directors and staff by helping to care for the families we serve and their friends that come to support them, specifically during the times of funerals, visitations, gatherings, and memorial services. You will find this a great way to serve people, the community and ensure that all responsibilities that have been entrusted to Leavitt’s run smoothly.

FUNERAL ASSOCIATES

As a funeral associate, you will be a key staff member that helps our directors of Leavitt. Our Funeral Associates are involved in the events of a funeral, visitation and gathering, escorting each guest and family members to the event, and potentially assisting in the transportation of the deceased from the place of death or to their final resting place. You would assist the funeral director in any way possible to make the funeral logistics less stressful, allowing the family to focus on grieving. This is a part-time job for someone who desires a meaningful purpose to help others.

An important and necessary job that many people never think about is that of an embalmer. Those who work in this position are skilled, dedicated, and caring individuals who see their profession as a way to treat the deceased and their families with dignity and respect.

We offer an excellent internship program at Leavitt’s. It’s the perfect setting for students to gain work experience and skills needed for a career in the funeral service business. We work with our Apprentices to reach high standards of excellence in service and options to the families we serve, making funeral arrangements and provide complete respect and care to the deceased that families have placed in our care. It is critical to display active listening skills to help plan personalized funerals for each family.

TRANSFER STAFF

The role of a Leavitt’s transport driver is very important. This job involves transferring the deceased to their assigned destinations. It is important to have a good driving record and pass a background check. Applicants should be 21 years of age and willing to work nights and weekends. They should be able to work with other people and have good communication skills. Our Transporters get involved in other parts of our funeral services including serving as pallbearers and greeters.

We offer many positions in the realm of administration at Leavitt’s. Anyone filling a role in this category is generally the first point of contact for our company with the public. Whether it’s interaction on the phone or in person with those we serve, this individual must be courteous, professional and helpful. Anyone in administration will provide support to families, funeral directors, managers and co-workers.
