Don W. Ratkovich
Donald William Ratkovich, 75, of Parkersburg, passed away on June 22, 2011 at the Willows.
He was born in Pueblo, Colorado on July 24, 1935 a son of the late Daniel and Berenice Fisher Ratkovich.
He was a graduate of the University of Colorado and began working as a chemical engineer for Dupont Washington worked in 1957 and retired in 1995. Don had been active with the Cub Scouts, pack #126 and Worthington Elementary School PTA while his children were in young. He had also served on the Boy Scout Council for several years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Parkersburg and enjoyed his family and traveling.
Don is survived by his wife of 53 years Gerry Sadler Ratkovich, sons William and Susan of Roanoke, VA, Thomas, of Parkersburg, Robert and Yuna of Madison AL, Daniel and Rebecca of Parkersburg, five grandchildren Andrea, Jennifer, Ethan, Cindy, Regina, great grandson Coda and brother D. Ronald Ratkovich and Mary of Arvada, Colorado.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a grandson Elijah.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Rev. Jim Mike Ward officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 on Saturday and prior to the service on Sunday.
