Leavitt Funeral HomesGreg Syner, MA, LPC will begin an eight week Grief Support Group on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. This group will be held at the Counseling and Wellness Center. The group is FREE of charge, sponsored by Leavitt Funeral Home. Anyone is welcome to attend, but space is limited, please call for a reservation - 422-7300.

First Baptist Church (Parkersburg, West Virginia)Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 813 Market St., Parkersburg, on Monday, May 25, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Casual dress is welcome. Between 11:30 and 12:00 p.m., you will have the opportunity to record the names of your loved ones. Names will be read by Priscilla Leavitt and a moment of silence will be observed in their honor. A brief program will include reflections of hope by Pastor Frank Miller The service will conclude with playing of the bagpipes by Jon Leavitt with music by Reinnie and Carrie Leavitt. and piano accompaniment by Matt Smith.

Arlington National CemeteryOn Saturday, December 10, 2011, Wreaths Across America (WAA) organized the placement of nearly 90,000 wreaths on the headstones of our nation's fallen military at Arlington National Cemetery. This effort coincided with 740 additional wreath-laying ceremonies coordinated by WAA at locations across the country - including 25 overseas - for a total of 325,000 donated wreaths this year, the most in the organization's 20 year history. The goal is to see every veterans grave in the country covered to honor every veteran during the holidays. Leavitt Funeral Home is a sponsor of Wreaths Across America and the placing of wreaths on local graves in our area. The placing of the wreaths in 2014 will be on December 13.
