Jackie Rhodes DeVore, 63, of Parkersburg, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011. She was born December 30, 1947 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Alfred "Jack" and Rosemary Bell Rhodes.
She was a 1965 graduate of PHS and went on to try many careers; her favorite was being a driver and trainer for JB Hunt Trucking. She was loving, kind, very giving, funny and knew no strangers. Her hobbies included genealogy, facebook, crafts and spending time with family and friends. She was much loved by family, friends and anyone who knew her. She will be missed.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Becky) McVay of Williamsport, OH' stepmother Carma Rhodes; sisters, Penny (Gary) McConathy of Tuscaloosa, AL, Alfredia (Tim) Young of Salem, OH, Sandy (Steve) Burnside, Pam (Alan) Whitlock all of Parkesburg; brothers, Dana (Janet) VanKirk, Lee (Julie) Rhodes all of Parkersburg; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and special love Red Kelly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack DeVore.
Visitation will be Monday 2-4 pm at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg followed by a social gathering 4-6 pm at the Leavitt Family Center.
