Resided in Little Hocking, OH
He retired from GE Plastics and was a member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, where he served as Eucharistic Minister. He was a board member of the Wood County Community Federal Credit Union, and had thirty-seven years of active service for the Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as a line officer with his highest rank being Assistant Chief. He was a 1959 graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School and served as Fire Safety Inspector for State of Ohio.
He is survived by his wife Delilah Potter; children Regina Potter, Diana Roach (Mark), Edward Potter, Jr. (Kathleen James), Paula Balderson (Bradley), Michael Potter, and Karissa Potter (fiance Christopher Hobbs); brother Bernard Potter (Charlotte), Andrew Potter (Karen), and Philip Potter; grandchildren Jessica and Jacob Roach, Matthew and Ryan Potter, and Sarah and Seth Balderson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother James Potter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 10:00 AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Bob Gallagher as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Marys Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre.
Memorial contributions may be sent in his memory to Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department.
